We’ve worked our way through all the available old scorebooks and Play-Cricket records and have been able to come up with a list of all the players who’ve represented the 1st XI and tied that back to the order in which they have done so. Thus, being able to allocate each player a ‘cap’ number.
This was an arduous exercise, only possible by the expert record keeping that has taken place over the last 124 years.
The caveat that stands when publishing records like this is there will always be missing information (i.e. when scorebooks don’t exist), but every effort has been made to ensure this information is as accurate as possible based on the information available.
We hope you enjoy not only finding your number (if you’ve been lucky enough to represent the 1st XI), but also looking through the vast array of players dating back to 1901 who feature.
