We are delighted to announce that Andy Roberts has been appointed as the new Cricket Chairman, replacing Graeme Keenan who steps down after 5 years at the helm.
Andy, who started his cricketing career as a junior at Upton boasts a wealth of cricketing experience having spent time with Caldy and Wallasey in the Liverpool Competition (between 1998 to 2004), and then eight seasons with Neston in the Cheshire County League Premier Division. Interspersed with this he spent two spells playing Hawke Cup Provincial Competition cricket in New Zealand. Andy then returned to Upton in 2013 going on to captain the 1st XI in 204 & 2015 and when you also throw in the fact he is an ideal candidate to continue the good work Graeme Keenan started.
Andy starts in the role immediately and will be working closely with all senior captains, Simon McGowan (Junior Cricket Chairman) and Paul Owen (Selection Chairman) to ensure the club continues develop all through the sides.
The Club wishes to pass their thanks and gratitude on to Graeme Keenan who has performed the role with distinction, and can now have a well deserved rest.
