Celebrating our Social teams hard work in the 2023 season.

Our Social team have been working really hard behind the scenes this season to put on some amazing events and we think its time their work is celebrated.

"Painted pink" weekend
From pink stumps, to pink caps, to a giant inflatable pink flamingo, Upton CC fully embraced the ‘Paint Cricket Pink’ weekend!

Not only was the club, its members and various aspects of the game decked in pink, there was a phenomenal amount of money raised for the Prevent Breast Cancer charity for the ‘Paint Cricket Pink’ weekend.

Through a combination of raffle ticket sales, cupcake sales, donations and of the course the ‘cap’ auction, we were delighted to announce a figure in excess of £1,100 was raised for charity.

The highlight of the weekend was the post-game auction of the limited-edition pink 1st XI caps as worn by the players during the game. A staggering £510 was raised during the auction, with one particular cap fetching a whopping £125!

Afternoon tea
The bank holiday weekend in August saw the fantastic Afternoon Tea at the club, which was a roaring success.

With a lovely spread of cakes, sandwiches, tea and most importantly Prosecco, the afternoon was enjoyed by all that attended and was the perfect way to start a weekends relaxing.

Last night of the season
This years theme for the last night of the season was "shocking shirts" which saw a selection of wild and colourful shirts only seen before on Nigel Sharrock.

The bar was decorated top to bottom with different festive ornaments and even feature a bubble machine!

As usual, a good time was had by all as the last night of the season continues to be one of the best nights in the social calendar.
